SUMMARY
Are you a talented bartender looking for a new job opportunity? We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and driven bartender to lead the Four Walls Wine & Cocktail Bar. The bartender will prepare and serve beverages, help to design signature cocktails, promote the bar and help to build a vibrant social culture for members and guests of the Club.
JOB DUTIES
- Mixing beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits
- Makings syrups, infusions, tinctures, mixed drinks, and cocktails of all types to fulfill customer orders
- Taking beverage orders from customers or wait staff and serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail
- Satisfying patron requests in a timely manner
- Assessing customer preferences and making drink recommendations, paying special attention to the preferences of club members and other regulars
- Providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting and entertaining members and guests while mixing drinks, talking to customers about spirits and offering trivia and history about various alcohols to keep customers engaged and enjoying themselves
- Creating unique drinks, innovating cocktails and planning original bar menu using the ingredients that are already supplied by the company for which they work.
- Collecting money for drinks served and providing change as needed
- Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers
- Keeping a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and other accessories
- Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment
- Organising the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Placing orders for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies
- Slicing, pitting, and preparing fruit garnishes for drinks
- Preparing and serving appetisers, snacks, or other food items for customers at the bar
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations
- Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behaviour
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven work experience as a bartender
- Knowledge and interest in mixology (training an advantage)
- Passion and pride for delighting people with cocktails
- Working knowledge of standard drink recipes
- Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer
- Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishments
- Working knowledge of bar equipment
- Numeracy and cash-handling skills
- Able to work flexible schedules
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods
- Be able to reach and bend and frequently lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
- Excellent time management abilities
- Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.
- Set up control systems that will assure quality and portion consistency and the ability to create proper purchasing specifications
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
